Lifestyle
Toxic scales fall off in flight, and it flies even in the rain. It evolves from Metapod and smells flowers from ten kilometers away.
In the anime
Ash caught it as a Caterpie, his first Pokémon, then released it to mate with a pink Butterfree saved from Team Rocket.
Name origin
The model appears to be the black-veined white butterfly. Butterfree joins butterfly and free; one l in French kept Papilusion within ten characters.
