Its story
Lifestyle
It swings its thorny arms like hammers and can last thirty days without drinking. Its flower's scent lures prey, which it fells with thorns. It evolves into Cacturne.
In the anime
James catches it to protect Pokémon freed from a poacher. Later he leaves it with Gardenia, who agrees to train it.
Name origin
Cacnea suggests a barrel cactus and possibly a jack-o'-lantern. Its name may join cactus with the Japanese name Sabonea.
