« Can emit waves of air powerful enough to knock out prey taller than itself. I hypothesize that it amplifies the faint sound of wind within its body. »

Its story

Appearance

Chimecho is small, round, and bluish-white, hollow like a wind chime. It has yellow eyes, three stubby limbs, an amaranth band, a tag-like tail, and a yellow suction cup.

Lifestyle

Nocturnal in grasslands and woods, it evolves from Chingling and can Mega Evolve. Its usual cries knock prey out; the Mega form soothes Trainers and listeners.

In the anime

James catches his Chimecho at the Fortree City Feather Carnival and will not let it battle. When it falls ill, he leaves it with his Nanny and Pop-Pop in Saffron City.

Name origin

It draws on the fūrin, a shrine wind bell, and its Mega Evolution on the khakkhara monk's staff. Chimecho may blend chime and echo.
