Its story

Appearance

Combee is a small flying Pokémon of three orange honeycomb cells, two above and one below. Each face is yellow. Only females have a red spot on the lower forehead.

Lifestyle

Each face has its own mind. They fly only if the top two flap together, gather nectar all day, and obey only Vespiquen. Only females evolve into her.

In the anime

Combee lead Ash and his friends toward the Enchanted Honey. Those of Honey Island are revered for their honey, in the first episode where a Pokémon is drawn in 3D.

Name origin

The name may blend honeycomb, combination, and bee. Ken Sugimori kept three stuck honeycombs, with faces simplified in the style of old comic books.
