Vespiquen has a yellow-and-black abdomen that flares like a ballgown, with seven cells cradling baby Combee. A large red gem and horns crown her forehead, like a noblewoman's headdress.

Its story
Lifestyle
She is the hive's only queen, commands with pheromones, and evolves from a female Combee. Far stronger, she steps in only when her subjects can no longer defend the nest.
In the anime
She first appears ruling a huge Combee colony. Aaron sends her out with a Drapion in a show of power, and Team Rocket later targets her.
Name origin
The name may combine vespa, Latin for wasp, and queen. The design crosses a queen bee with a queen wasp, and the red gem marks her rank like jewelry.
Did you know?
- The more pheromones she releases, the more Combee she keeps.
- She destroys and eats intruders, but may reward strangers who defend the hive.
- In Horizons episode HZ137, one Vespiquen also sheltered a Ribombee.
