Appearance
Corphish is a red crustacean with a short, lobster-like tail. Three spikes crown its head, its eyes are saucer-shaped, and its large pincers are cream underneath.

Its story
Lifestyle
Hardy, it lives in polluted water, eats almost anything, and, with Feebas, inhabits stagnant ditches. It evolves into Crawdaunt.
In the anime
Ash catches one that becomes the main comic relief of his team throughout the Ruby and Sapphire series.
Name origin
It may be based on the red swamp crayfish, now an invasive pest in many countries. Corphish may join corps or corporal with crayfish.

- It is not native to Alola, but individuals released by Trainers there have thrived.
- The Pokédex says it came from overseas, which would make it the first exotic species.
- Neither it nor Crawdaunt flees when a swarm of Basculin invades their lake.
