Appearance
Cradily is a green, plant-like echinoderm marked with yellow. Eight pink tentacles ring its head of yellow false eyes; the real eyes hide in a dark crescent. Its squat body has a long neck.

Its story
Lifestyle
Long ago it nested in warm shallows and came ashore at low tide. Too slow, it stretches neck and tentacles to three times their length and dissolves prey in acid. It evolves from Lileep.
In the anime
On Wales Island, Max spots a Cradily, but no one believes him; Annie Proctor takes it to the lab. In the Masters Eight, Steven's Cradily defeats Ash's Gengar, then falls to Pikachu.
Name origin
It is based on the crinoid, or sea lily, with anemone tentacles and false eyes. Cradily may combine cradle and lily; the tentacles also suggest a baby mobile.
