Appearance
Crobat is a purple bat with a small round body, long pointed ears, yellow eyes with red pupils, and visible fangs. Four wings carry it; the lower blue-green pair grew from its hind legs.

Its story
Lifestyle
It flies far, fast, and silently, even in caves, and drinks its prey’s blood. Nocturnal, it evolves from Golbat through friendship and ends the Zubat line.
In the anime
Brock’s Golbat becomes Crobat. After Johto, Brock leaves it with his brother Forrest, then later takes it back.
Name origin
It draws on vampire bats and legendary vampires. Crobat may blend cross and bat, and also suggest acrobat and kuro, “black.”
Did you know?
- Without blood it grows weak and cannot fly.
- With no legs, it can only crawl on its wings.
- It hangs upside down by its rear wings in caves or from branches.
