Dragonair is a long sky-blue reptile with a white belly, a small horn, swirling white wings, and three blue crystal orbs. A gentle aura gives it a mystical look.
It releases energy through its crystals, so its body brightens and changes the weather, even asleep. Rare, it lives in pristine seas and lakes and evolves into Dragonite.
Clair's Dragonair is her last Pokémon in a Gym battle against Ash. On Dragonite Island, a wild Dragonair Ash befriended evolves into Dragonite, which he soon catches.
Dragonair may blend dragon with air, debonair, or lair. Designed by Atsuko Nishida, it suggests lucky dragons, Hermes, and the imugi, which becomes a dragon if it catches a falling jewel.
