Appearance
Finneon is a small oval fish, black above and light blue below, with a pink stripe on each side. Its tail fins look like blue butterfly wings dotted with pink.

Its story
Lifestyle
Its pink spots soak up sunlight and glow at night to hide or draw prey. By day it stays near the surface, at night it dives, and it evolves into Lumineon.
In the anime
It debuts with Zoey during the Performance Stage of the Wallace Cup. It is later revealed to have evolved into Lumineon.
Name origin
It recalls the butterflyfish, the neon tetra, and real butterfly wings. Finneon may blend fin and neon.
Did you know?
- On a female, the lower lobes of the tail are larger.
- Wingull, its predator, snatches it in midair when it leaps from the water.
- With Lumineon, it is the only Generation IV Pokémon with a fish body.
