Its story
Lifestyle
By day it spreads its leaves to store sunlight and evolve into Lurantis, and it attacks anyone who disturbs that rest. It never sleeps in the same spot two days running.

Ash and Mallow found a group of sleeping Fomantis while searching for a Mago Berry.
Name origin
Fomantis may blend faux, French for false and for scythe, with mantis. It is based on the orchid and the orchid mantis, with their mimicry reversed.
