Appearance
Lurantis looks like a plantlike mantis in a gown. White arms end in large red scythes, striped legs look like trousers, and four red wing-like appendages sprout from its back.

Its story
Lifestyle
It smells like a flower to lure foes, then strikes. Stored light becomes beams fired from its sickle-like arms, strong enough to cleave thick metal. It evolves from Fomantis.

In Alola, the Totem Lurantis of Mallow's trial challenges Ash. Litten beats it, then that Totem awards him a Grassium Z.
Name origin
It reverses the usual mimicry between the orchid and the orchid mantis, and recalls a kimono worn by Obon dancers. Lurantis may blend lure, allure, fleur, and mantis.
