Its story
Lifestyle
Violent and fiercely territorial, it often fights another Fraxure. Its tusks no longer grow back, so it sharpens them on river rocks. It evolves from Axew into Haxorus.
In the anime
Iris's Axew appears as a Fraxure only in a fantasy. Younger Iris borrows one from Opelucid Academy, exhausts it against an Altaria, loses, then apologizes.
Name origin
Like Haxorus, it is based on dinosaurs. Its tusks suggest pickaxe blades. The design was worked backward from Haxorus. The name may blend fracture and axe.
Did you know?
- A broken tusk is useless, so it uses them only when it must.
- It cuts prey in two: one portion to eat now, one to save.
- It clashes with Bisharp over the river stones that sharpen its tusks.
