Appearance
Gorebyss is a lavender-pink, serpentine Pokémon with a long, thin mouth. Two purple shells sit on its chest, and a round purple fin tips its tail.

Its story
Lifestyle
Its pointed mouth stabs prey and drains their fluids. It lives in the deep sea, tough enough for high pressure. It evolves from Clamperl; Huntail is the other final form.
In the anime
Four Gorebyss were chased by a Huntail. One fell in love with it, much to Goh's Dewgong's disappointment.
Name origin
It may draw from the snipe eel, and it also resembles a pipefish, an oarfish, a chimaera, and a mermaid. Gorebyss may blend gore, gorgeous, and abyss.

- Its pink skin grows brighter in spring and after it has fed.
- Its color changes with water temperature; in Alola it is blindingly vivid.
- Despite being a pure Water type, its Poké Assist is Psychic in Pokémon Ranger.
