Appearance

Its story
Lifestyle
It lures prey with its fish-shaped tail and swallows them whole. A weak swimmer of the deep, it evolves from Clamperl as one of two final forms.
In the anime
It chases Gorebyss, attacks Goh's Dewgong, Chloe, and Eevee, and traps them. After Ash and Goh defeat it, a Gorebyss in love joins it.
Name origin
It recalls the gulper eel, viperfish, or oarfish, especially its orange crest. Huntail may join hunt, hanten (a speck), and tail.
Did you know?
- The orange growth on its head may be a leftover of Clamperl's shell.
- By tradition, a Huntail washed ashore signals something unfortunate.
- On the A-B-C Islands, Clamperl becomes Huntail only on Island C.
