In the anime
A bully Grumpig controls Spoink at an oasis, where Team Rocket uses it as a lure. Ash's Sliggoo defeats it, and it later apologizes.
Name origin
Grumpig is based on a pig and on pearls cast before swine, here turned toward psychic power. Its name may blend grumpy and pig, with a hint of grunt.
