Lifestyle
It punches too fast to see, then throws a straight punch beyond 300 miles an hour. It rests every three minutes, lives in towns, and evolves from Tyrogue.
In the anime
Anthony's Hitmonchan loses a sabotaged tournament to a Hitmonlee of Team Rocket. A Karate Master later gives one to Goh.
Name origin
Hitmonchan, a name suggested by Bill Giese, evokes Jackie Chan, hit, and monster. Red or blue gloves and three-minute breaks echo the corners and rounds of the ring.
