Opening the Prison Bottle restores its true form for three days. Its rings warp space, which it uses for mischief and to take whatever it wants.
In the anime
In the shorts, it plays tricks on Ash and Pikachu. In the film, it becomes Hoopa Unbound, the main antagonist.
Name origin
Hoopa may come from hoop, hoopla, or OOPArt. The Confined form draws on djinn and on Aladdin.
