Its story
Lifestyle
An organ instantly vaporizes absorbed water. Its cannons expel that steam, strong enough to blow away mountains, and let it fly. It may live for centuries in remote mountains.
In the anime
It hates humans. In Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, it targets the Azoth Kingdom to retrieve Magearna, whose true identity only it knows.
Name origin
Its mechanical look, mix of fire and water, and its steam evoke steam engines and cannons. Volcanion may combine volcano, lion or union, and canyon or cannon.

- It may also echo the shisa and komainu, mythical beings between lion and dog.
- When its water runs out, a bell sounds, the cannons turn red, and it must refill.
