Its story

Appearance

A round, pink plant Pokémon. Long ragged green leaves like a dandelion's, large dark ears, small yellow eyes, and a yellow pad under each foot.

Lifestyle

So light that it drifts on any wind. It senses strong winds, grips the ground or links its leaves, and lives almost everywhere except the cold. It evolves into Skiploom.

In the anime

Seven Hoppip help Mariah predict the weather. Team Rocket later targets them.

Name origin

Hoppip joins hop and pip, a small seed. It seems based on a bulb or a root, and a little like a cat.

Did you know?

James buys a Hoppip painted like a Chimecho. Once the trick is found, it flies off.
In the Spaceworld '97 demo it continues Haneko, a darker limbless cat with a long tail.
When it moves, its leaves spin like helicopter blades.
