Its story
Lifestyle
At home in the water, it sprays water or thick black ink. The male raises the young. It nests in reefs and evolves into Seadra, then Kingdra.
In the anime
Misty catches one after it helps stop a rampaging giant Tentacruel. Later she leaves it at the Cerulean Gym with her sisters.
Name origin
Horsea plays on seahorse and horsie, a childish word for a horse. It is inspired by a seahorse; shooting ink recalls a squid.
