Appearance
Kakuna is a yellow Pokémon shaped like an insect cocoon. Its head is domed, its black triangular eyes have glowing white pupils, and two scythe-like arms stick out.

Its story
Lifestyle
It barely moves while waiting to evolve, often hanging from branches on long silk threads. It evolves from Weedle, then into Beedrill.
In the anime
It debuts with several Kakuna in a hive that evolve into Beedrill to defend it. The series shows it evolving more often than any other Pokémon.
Name origin
Atsuko Nishida designed it after the pupa of a bee or wasp. Kakuna appears to be a corruption of cocoon.
Did you know?
- Near evolution its body gives off heat.
- If attacked, it can extend poisonous barbs.
