Lifestyle
It sleeps from birth to death on poisonous leaves only it can break down, yet it eats, travels, and battles without waking; if its log is taken, it thrashes wildly.
In the anime
Samson Oak's Komala usually sleeps and rings the Pokémon School bell. It won the Pokémon Pancake Race and later rings frantically when the Ultra Guardians are needed.
Name origin
Komala is based on a koala that sleeps up to twenty hours a day, and its log suggests a body pillow. Its name may combine coma and koala.
