Lifestyle
Gentle, it avoids fighting, flies faster than a jet, and senses places and emotions by telepathy. As Mega Latios it turns purple, larger and faster than Mega Latias, up to Mach 4.
In the anime
Annie and Oakley capture it for Alto Mare; it sacrifices itself to stop a tidal wave. Tobias's Latios beats Ash's Sceptile and Swellow, then falls with Pikachu.
Name origin
It blends jet, dragon, griffin, and bird, and with Latias the pair suggests yin and yang, with Latios as yang. Its name may come from lateō, “I lie hidden,” and the masculine ending -os.
