Malamar looks like an upside-down squid, with purple tentacles on its head and yellow eyes. Two white fins work as legs, and two sharp scythe-like fins hang at its sides.

Its story
Lifestyle
Its hypnosis, said to be the strongest of all, lures prey and controls people, who then forget. It evolves from Inkay by turning the console over.
In the anime
An evil Malamar has Officer Jenny pose as “Madame X,” then escapes. Later, after a failed bid to conquer the world, a machine sends it into the future.
Name origin
Hitoshi Ariga drew it from squids shown upside down and from a tokusatsu alien villain. Malamar may blend mal-, calamari, malákio, and mare.
