Its story
Lifestyle
From birth it bonds with any human or Pokémon. Highly sensitive, it returns to the cold seafloor where it was born; its Eggs always hatch into Phione.
In the anime
In Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, it hatches in May's hands and helps the People of the Water find the temple Samiya.
Name origin
Ken Sugimori designed it, likely after sea angels. The name Manaphy may come from mana and ancient Greek philía, “friendship.”
