Its story

Appearance

Masquerain is a light blue insect with a long teardrop head, a pink face, and round black eyes. Four translucent diamond wings and antennae like angry eyes complete it.

Lifestyle

It evolves from Surskit and lives at the water's edge. False eyes scare foes, and it flies any way or hovers until its wings are wet.

Audrey's Masquerain, her main Pokémon, helps a group turn the windmill blades in LaRousse City.

Name origin

Masquerain may combine masquerade and rain. It skates on water like a water strider and flies like a helicopter, in the manner of a dragonfly.

Did you know?

In the rain its antennae grow heavy and droop, so it shelters under trees or eaves.
Its wing-like legs recall crane flies that ride the air on swollen legs.
At Juan's water exhibit, Team Rocket captures it, then everyone escapes together.
