Shroomish is a small mushroom: a beige top with green spots and frills, open at the tip, and a fully green bottom. Beady black eyes, a half-triangle mouth, round feet, and no arms.

Lifestyle
By day it hides under fallen leaves in tropical forests and eats soil of rotten leaves. In danger it releases toxic spores. It evolves into Breloom.
In the anime
Ash and his friends save Shroomish in an abandoned mansion about to be destroyed, helped by Alex, the owner's grandson.
Name origin
It suggests a puffball or an earth star, and perhaps a dinosaur egg. Shroomish may blend mushroom with -ish or with skirmish.
