Lifestyle
The flame keeps foes back and shows rank: a bigger flame means a higher place in the pack. It comes from Chimchar, then evolves into Infernape.
In the anime
In the series, Ash's Chimchar becomes Monferno in a battle with Paul, then later Infernape.
Name origin
Takao Unno designed it after a monkey and Monkey Kung Fu. The English name may blend monkey and inferno.
