Its story
Lifestyle
Docile, it wags its tail when happy and sleeps buried in swamp mud. Its head fin finds water, and its tail drives it along. It evolves into Marshtomp, then Swampert.
In the anime
Brock happily hatches a Mudkip Egg offered by Old Man Swamp and keeps it. It later becomes a Marshtomp.
Name origin
Mudkip may blend mud, skip, and mudskipper. Its look suggests a mudskipper, a mudpuppy, or an axolotl.
