A male of hot savannas, its horn is harder than diamond and oozes poison that strengthens with adrenaline. It evolves from Nidoran♂ into Nidoking.
In the anime
Ash watches a Nidorino face a Gengar, the first Pokémon shown in the series outside the opening. The scene comes from the earliest games’ opening.
Name origin
It suggests a rabbit, a rhinoceros, a porcupine, and the Moon rabbit, through the Moon Stone. The name blends needle, rhinoceros, and a masculine suffix.
