Its story
Lifestyle
Threatened, it withdraws into its hard shell. Called extinct, it is revived from fossils; once released, it becomes a problem. It evolves into Omastar.
In the anime
A dynamite blast woke Omanyte sleeping under Grampa Canyon. They chased Ash and Team Rocket until an Aerodactyl scared them off.
Name origin
It is based on the ammonite, a prehistoric mollusk, and perhaps the nautilus. Omanyte may come from ammonite. Japanese Omnite blends nautilus and ammonite.
