Appearance
A sky-blue mollusk with shorter, thicker front tentacles and a pale yellow spiked shell. Its eyes have slit pupils, and a four-part beak looks like fangs.

Its story
Lifestyle
Its tentacles seized prey, then its beak bit hard enough to crush rock. A shell grown too heavy may have caused its extinction. It evolves from Omanyte.
In the anime
Two Omastar, woken by dynamite under Grampa Canyon, chased Ash and Team Rocket, then fled from an Aerodactyl.
Name origin
It echoes the ammonite, the nautilus, and perhaps Anomalocaris. Omastar blends ammonite and star, for the shape of its body.

- In the beta its English name was Kargo, from escargot.
- It cracked Shellder's shell, then sucked out the insides.
- It is thought to be a distant ancestor of Octillery.
