Appearance
Pupitar is sealed in a thick grayish-blue shell, about as hard as bedrock. Its red eyes show through two holes, beneath a mask-like plate covered in spikes.

Its story
Lifestyle
Its arms and legs form inside. It blasts compressed gas, even in its sleep, hard enough to topple mountains, and roams harsh mountain ranges. It evolves from Larvitar into Tyranitar.
In the anime
It first appears as Cruise, alongside Ritchie. Rico's Pupitar evolves into Tyranitar while attacking Team Rocket.
Name origin
Pupitar may blend pupa, the stage between larva and adult, with tar, Reptar, or the Tarasque. A pupa-like body is an odd fit for a reptile.
