Lifestyle
It can store over one hundred thousand volts and grows aggressive if it stores too much. In Alola it rides its tail like a board.

At the Vermilion Gym, Lt. Surge’s Raichu defeats Ash’s Pikachu. The next day Ash refuses to evolve his partner.
Name origin
The name, the same in English, joins Japanese rai, “thunder,” with the squeak chūchū.
