Appearance
Rockruff is a light brown dog with blue eyes and a darker muzzle and paws. A grayish-white ruff studded with pebbles circles its neck, and its fluffy tail curls over its back.

Lifestyle
It never forgets a scent and bonds easily. Growing wilder with age, it howls at sunset, then evolves into Midday, Midnight, or Dusk Form Lycanroc.
In the anime
First cared for by Professor Kukui, it is caught by Ash and evolves into Dusk Form Lycanroc. Murdock owns one that becomes a Midday Form Lycanroc.
Name origin
Rockruff may combine rock and ruff, a bark or a neck frill. It seems based on a spitz and the Japanese wolf, often tied to rocks.
