Its story
Lifestyle
It bores through ice with its horn and tusks, and lives on icebergs. It swims in water at −40 °C, tires in warm water, and is awkward on land. It evolves into Dewgong.
In the anime
Misty and her sisters keep several Seel at the Cerulean Gym. One of them later evolves into Dewgong.
Name origin
Seel comes from seal. It suggests a harp seal pup, but also the beluga, the narwhal, and the walrus.

- It is one of the few Pokémon that has eyebrows.
- With its tail raised, it looks like a waterspout.
- A 1997 demo showed Bomushikā, a split evolution like a sea lion playing with a fireball.
