Its story

Appearance

Seviper is a snake usually bunched up like an accordion. Black scales with yellow hexagons, purple scar-like marks, long red fangs, and a tail that ends in a blade.

Lifestyle

It wraps a foe so it cannot move, then poisons it with its tail and fangs. A bitter enemy of Zangoose, it lives in grasslands and savannas.

In the anime

Jessie makes it her main partner in place of Arbok. Before Unova, she leaves it at Team Rocket Headquarters so an outsider Pokémon will not draw notice.

Name origin

It suggests a viper, especially the habu. French Séviper may blend “sévir” and viper; English Seviper blends sever or serpent with viper, its S mirroring Zangoose's Z.
