« Found in abundance on seashores bordering warm waters. Shellos are unexpectedly friendly and will crawl toward any person they see. Take care not to get coated in mucus! »

Its story

Appearance

Shellos looks like a sea slug: soft body, large black eyes outlined in yellow, and a yellow-edged mantle. West Sea is pink with a white belly; East Sea is turquoise with a green belly.

Lifestyle

The cleaner the water, the brighter its colors. When squeezed or in danger it oozes a sticky purple fluid; friendly, it regenerates very well and evolves into Gastrodon.

In the anime

Zoey owns a West Sea Shellos and pairs it with her Glameow in a performance for Dawn. That Shellos later evolves into Gastrodon; the East Sea form appears later.

Name origin

Shellos may blend shell with loss or lost, or the German suffix -los, echoing a species that once had a shell.

Did you know?

Mount Coronet's formation split the population into two lines that can still interbreed.
The child usually takes the mother's form, or the father's if bred with a Ditto.
In the series, West Sea Shellos stretches its neck; whether East Sea can is unknown.
