Its story

Appearance

A huge dark blue-green Pokémon whose body is mostly belly, with a cream face, belly, and feet. Two pointed teeth stick out from its lower jaw.

Lifestyle

It evolves from Munchlax. It sleeps almost all the time and eats about 400 kg a day; a Poké Flute can wake it.

In the anime

Ash caught a wild Snorlax that was eating grapefruits. It then spent most of its time at Professor Oak’s lab.

Name origin

Snorlax may come from snore and relax.

Did you know?

It is the heaviest Normal-type Pokémon.
One Snorlax, called Mosslax, slept until moss covered it; only lightning wakes it.
Its Japanese name comes from a nickname for developer Kōji Nishino.
