Appearance
Sunkern is a mostly yellow, seed-like Pokémon with a small sprout ringed by triangular spikes. Three broad brown stripes run down its body. Its black eyes have white pupils.

« Sunkern tries to move as little as it possibly can. It does so because it tries to conserve all the nutrients it has stored in its body for its evolution. It will not eat a thing, subsisting only on morning dew. »
Its story
Lifestyle
Very weak, it drinks only dew under leaves and barely moves, saving nutrients to evolve into Sunflora. It lives in temperate grassy meadows and shakes its leaves at attackers such as Spearow.
In the anime
Ash, Brock, Misty, and Todd found it frozen in a field. After evolving with Ash's Sun Stone, Sunkern called more Sunflora for Sophia and Marcello's golden anniversary.
Name origin
Its design suggests a shooting sunflower seed. Sunkern may combine sunflower and kernel.
