Its story

Appearance

A small porcine Pokémon with dense brown striped hair. The coat often hides its legs, so it looks like a lump, and its eyes seem closed.

Lifestyle

With its pink nose it digs through mud and snow, sometimes finding hot springs. It lives in icy caves and tundra, then evolves into Piloswine and Mamoswine.

In the anime

Dawn catches one that later evolves into Mamoswine. Three others sniff out places to dig for hot springs.

Name origin

Swinub may blend swine with nub, for the lump-like nose, or cub. It mixes a wild boar piglet, a long-haired guinea pig, and a groundhog.

Its eyes were shown open only once, in the manga, during Pryce's battle with Erika.
Its favorite food is a mushroom that grows under dead grass.
