Tangela is almost hidden by periwinkle-blue, seaweed-like vines. A gap shows its black-ringed eyes, and two pink-red boot-like feet stick out.

Its story
Lifestyle
It ensnares anything that comes too close. Its vines sway, tickle, and snap off painlessly if pulled so it can escape. It lives in temperate grasslands and swamps, and evolves into Tangrowth.
In the anime
With Erika, it beats Ash's Bulbasaur using its vines and an incapacitating spore, then she recalls it against Charmander. Officer Jenny uses one against an army of Gulpin.
Name origin
Tangela blends tangle with the suffix -ella. Ken Sugimori designed it. In the English beta it was called Meduza, after Medusa.

- No one knows how it looks without its coat of fine-haired vines.
- Their taste and scent are refreshing; in Galar they are used as herbs.
- The Spaceworld '97 demo seemed to give it a one-eyed pre-Evolution, Monja.
