Its story
Lifestyle
It stretches its vine arms to entangle prey, disguises itself as a shrub to hunt, and lives in grasslands and swamps. It evolves from Tangela.
In the anime
It first appears trying to save a dying tree vital to the forest, with help from Ash and his friends. Tammy's Tangrowth also helps at her flower shop.
Name origin
Its design may echo Jaranra, Sturgeon's swamp monster, the Green Man, and a shaggy caveman. Tangrowth may combine tangle and growth.

- Fingers are fully red on a female and red only at the tips on a male.
- A broken arm grows back easily; in hot weather the vines hide even its eyes.
