Appearance
Togedemaru is spherical and rodent-like: white in front, gray on the back, a pointed snout, round ears, and a yellow mark on each cheek. Fourteen spikes and a lightning-shaped needle rise from its back.

Lifestyle
Its needle gathers electricity; in groups they hold it up in storms to catch lightning. It clashes with Elekid whenever it tries to steal Elekid's electricity, and those fights usually end even.
In the anime
In the series, Sophocles's female Togedemaru is energetic and playful. She is very fond of Ash's Pikachu and is often outside her Poké Ball.
Name origin
Its round body and spines suggest a hedgehog, a porcupine, or a spiny rat. Its name joins toge (thorn), denki (electricity), and maru (round): "spiny and round."
