Appearance

Its story
Lifestyle
In dry deserts it digs through sand and crushes boulders. It waits in a cone- or bowl-shaped nest for prey to fall in, then evolves into Vibrava, then Flygon.
In the anime
Goh catches a Trapinch in Mauville City during a sandstorm. Later, Dialga and Palkia revert his Flygon into a Trapinch, before it returns to form.
Name origin
Its model is the antlion larva, which lives in a sand pit. Trapinch joins trap and pinch, and its head suggests a cartoon foothold trap.
Did you know?
- It can last a week without water or food.
- Flipped over, it cannot rise, and Sandile may prey on it.
- At night it sleeps buried in the sand.
