Appearance
Turtwig is a small light-green four-legged Pokémon, much like a turtle, with yellow eyes, feet and lower jaw. A brown shell of earth covers it, and two leaves grow on its head.

Its story
Lifestyle
A plant Pokémon, it feeds by photosynthesis; water it drinks hardens its shell, and its leaves wilt if it is thirsty. It evolves into Grotle, then Torterra.
In the anime
Ash caught his, which became a Grotle and then a Torterra. Paul's also reached Torterra, and Gardenia battled Ash with hers.
Name origin
It seems based on a land turtle, possibly an Asian box turtle, and the World Turtle that carries the world. Turtwig may combine turtle and twig.
