Its story

Appearance

Tyrantrum is a large brick-red bipedal dinosaur with a huge head and short snout. A crown of spikes, a beard, and a cape of white feathers make it look like a king.

Lifestyle

Once vicious and invincible, its jaws tore thick metal like paper. It evolves from Tyrunt. While asleep, its huge yawn fills the area with a terrifying atmosphere.

In the anime

Bonnie must say goodbye to the Scientists' Tyrantrum she hoped Clemont would catch. Diantha's appears briefly against Leon.

Name origin

Hitoshi Ariga designed it after Tyrannosaurus, with a kingly look. Tyrantrum may combine Tyrannosaurus, tyrant, and tantrum.

It vanished one hundred million years ago.
Strong enough to sleep unguarded, it may once have worn a full feather-like coat.
Its Dragon type echoes the Japanese word kyōryū, “fearsome dragon.”
