Its story

Appearance

Venonat is a round insect Pokémon covered in purple fur. Large red compound eyes dominate its face, beneath two white antennae.

Lifestyle

It sleeps by day in a tree hole and hunts at night for small insects drawn to bright light. Shaken hard, its fur spreads a toxic liquid. It evolves into Venomoth.

In the anime

Tracey’s Venonat is one of the two Pokémon he owns before meeting Ash. He uses it to see far away or in the dark, and it later becomes Venomoth.

Name origin

Venonat may join venom and gnat, a small insect. Its design blends several insects, and its eyes resemble parabolic antennas.

Aside from remakes, it had no regional Pokédex from Crystal until Scarlet and Violet, nearly twenty-two years.
Under the fur are a pink pincer mouth, two teeth, and light tan two-toed feet.
