Its story
Lifestyle
One theory says the right eye sees the future and the left the past, so it stays still for fear its visions come true. It evolves from Natu and may live in South American forests.
In the anime
A Xatu owned by a future Calista battles Team Rocket and protects Ash and the present-day Calista.
Name origin
It blends a resplendent quetzal with a totem or kachina. Xatu comes from xat, a carved pole, and possibly Natu; Sun Gazing before the sun explains the Psychic type.

- It can communicate by moving its wings like semaphore.
- In the Spaceworld '97 demo its body was brown and it evolved by Heart Stone.
